The true story of the quirky yet charming serial thief, Jeffrey Manchester, who was once a U.S. Army Reserve officer. He became famous for breaking into over 60 McDonald's restaurants at night or in the early hours of the morning, entering through the rooftops. He would lock the early shift employees in the freezers and steal all the cash from the registers. During these crimes, he maintained a gentle demeanor and rarely resorted to violence. In 2000, Manchester was convicted and imprisoned, but he escaped. For months, he hid in a Toys "R" Us and a Circuit City store in North Carolina, living on baby food and riding a bicycle in the toy store to keep fit. Reportedly, he left his fingerprints on a Catch Me If You Can DVD in an electronics store, which led to his capture and return to prison. The film will focus on Manchester's months-long journey on the run and the love story that kept him from escaping it all.
